In the picture above are three different mounting options for the AKA-11, a locking collet on the left, a lock nut and threaded bushing in the center, and a plain lock nut when the assembly is screwed into your plate. As a point of dimensional reference, the screw is a precision .500 X 40 tpi. This assembly allows a motion of the hollow spherical end to travel along the vee in either direction from center of .013" and also allows for a tilt of up to two degrees of the hollow screw (and the supported plate) about the stationary Z axis compression screw in any direction. This is allowed by the spherical washer and matching crown on the hollow screw end. This radius is centered on the spherical end of the hollow screw. This tilt is shown in the left hand picture below. The supported plate then can be adjusted in height in "Z" and tilted about "Z". The design allows for loading the supported plate into the Vee without separate methods such as post and springs, or magnets.
