This Vee slot is made of A-2 tool steel, hardened to 60 RC with bottom and vee surfaces ground flat to a <16 rms="" finish="" a-2="" has="" good="" toughness="" for="" severe="" service="" and="" high="" abrasion="" resistance="" it="" has="" reasonably="" good="" corrosion="" resistance="" the="" item="" in="" the="" picture="" ks-16-ts="" was="" designed="" specifically="" for="" 1="" diameter="" balls="" but="" can="" accommodate="" balls="" from="" 3="" 4="" to="" 1-1="" 4="" this="" part="" can="" be="" surface="" mounted="" located="" by="" standard="" 1="" 4="" shoulder="" screws="" from="" the="" top="" or="" located="" by="" standard="" 1="" 4="" dowel="" pins="" and="" screwed="" from="" the="" bottom="" with="" 8-32="" screws="" there="" is="" a="" relieved="" diameter="" on="" the="" bottom="" that="" provides="" a="" flat="" ring="" to="" provide="" a="" stable="" contact="" with="" the="" platform="" it="" can="" also="" be="" pressed="" into="" the="" work="" platform="" the="" flat="" surface="" of="" the="" vee="" gives="" much="" more="" contact="" surface="" with="" a="" ball="" under="" load="" than="" does="" a="" two="" rod="" vee="" providing="" much="" higher="" loading="" capabilities="" center="">
