Stainless Steel: We offer components
made of this material since it is the easiest
of the stainless steels to machine, the
most common type sold and readily available.
Thus, it is the least expensive. It is
non magnetic, reasonably corrosion resistant,
annealed, and in this condition, has a
tensile strength of 90,000 psi and a hardness
of Rockwell B84 (Brinell 160).
316 Stainless Steel: We
offer components made of this
material since it has the best
corrosion resistance of all
stainless steels. It is moderately
non-magnetic, annealed, and
in this condition, has a tensile
strength of 85,000 psi and
a hardness of Rockwell B80
(Brinell 150). Our components
are passivated after machining
to remove all traces of iron
on the surface that might cause
surface corrosion.
